give thanks to the ones who deserve it

In this crisis in Japan, let us give thanks to the people who are doing what they can to make a disastrous situation better.

Thank you to the engineers and scientists who study earthquakes, designed the tsunami warning systems and superior building guidelines, among others. If not for them, more lives would have been lost.

Thank you to the rescue teams who are working hard to find survivors.

Thank you to the doctors, nurses, pharmacists and other medical crew who are treating the sick and trying their best to keep people healthy.

Thank you to the nuclear engineers who are doing their best to stop a meltdown from happening.

Thank you to the disaster relief workers, charitable institutions and other providers of material aid.

Thank you to the people of Japan for being orderly and disciplined.

Thank you to the government of Japan for mobilizing everyone and keeping the people calm in this situation.

Thank you to the anonymous people whom I haven’t mentioned and have helped in whatever way they can; you know who you are.

You are the ones who make the miracles.
